Here at Bimos.be it has come to our attention that security issues are escalating all over the world, unfortunately one of our servers was touched as well. As you might imagine the people that are conducting such evil activities are looking for one thing “money” this is why the problem is quite serious; as in a crises like we are in right now a financial loss can really hurt.
Our Advice: Simple change passwords! - a password is not a PIN like for your bank account card. So try to make it 8 characters or more. Also a password is not a word that you’ll find in a dictionary or that would make sense like “thunderbird” that would be really easy to break. Instead you can keep the word “thunderbird” as a password but complicate it a little bit like so “Thund3rb1rD” that would be much harder to break . What is a strong password? – well it is a password that has at least 8 characters including big letters, small letters and numbers like in the example above…also signs are welcome too “#^*” that would make the password very strong. Change passwords regularly, I know it’s like saying “Smoking Kills on a cigarette pack”, please listen it’s for your own tranquility. If you do PayPal transactions, please, listen to us as you are targeted. On line credit cards input is not really recommendable but if you have to, please see if the page where you put your credit card information starts with “https “ not “http” like they all do. What does “https” means, well here is what Wikipedia says and we totally agree: “Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a combination of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol and a cryptographic protocol. HTTPS connections are often used for payment transactions on the World Wide Web and for sensitive transactions in corporate information systems.” Do not use the internet browser password keeper to store passwords – I know it’s convenient but …costly!!! Internet Explorer is not good but popular so it’ll be the first to fall, Fire Fox has problems also, one thing is clear it is not a good idea to “check the sign me in automatically or remember my password or whatever… This article was made to make you aware and not to make you freak out or something, do not change passwords if you feel “uncomfortable”, it happened to me and I had to lose a lot of time trying to get back my account… Well, hope that was helpful, if you have questions our contact page awaits your “say”. A lovely day to everybody, |
