Blackberry Keyboard Issues Print E-mail

I am putting this article up as a response to a youtube video, and it's main purpose is educational as the procedures that need to be done are quite complex and it might endanger your device.

On the video I saw on youtube the Blackberry owner had combinations of 2 letters when pressing certain keys, in fact to be more precise here is the link to that video, have a look at it and come back to us to see the solution we propose.

Basically that is the result of oxidation and my first guess is that the oxidation is on the movement sensors just under the trackball, in his case it's a little more complex as he has to disassemble the hole phone but if you have a 8800 for example that is a lot easier.
So open the phone or take out the trackball and take a good look at those sensors, bring a lamp and see if between the pins (legs) of the sensors you see oxidation it's usually white or light green or even green, once that is cleaned the phone should have no problem and the keyboard should go back to herself again.

The cleaning is not exactly easy as the sensors are small and the legs microscopic so you need to take care as you have between 300 and 600 euros at steak. The safest way is to ship it to us here at Bimos.be and we'll take care of it for a fair price it's around 45 euros and the shipping will be charged on the customer. You can try the procedure your self but take great care and back-up the phone before.

There are other places that might cause the same effect Keyboard Issues, at the keyboard level have a look under the white plastic that holds the keys on the motherboard, it's a stick situation but with a pair of tweezers you should be able to do it. Again here use alcohol type solution to clear the oxidation and put back the keys – of course leave it to dry first or it'll not stick back.

Well this article is just guide lines, we'll put up a video on YouTube as soon as possible explaining this in details.

Until the next time, happy summer,
